Founder of BELTLINE Cannabis Calgary, Karen Barry lived and worked as a bartender in the trendy, world renowned “Leidseplein” area in Amsterdam during the 1980’s. Amsterdam is home to the world’s first known, recognizable, and original “Mellow Yellow” cannabis retail shop. Taking inspiration, the ‘mellow yellow’ color scheme is incorporated in BELTLINE Cannabis Calgary interior design, paying homage to the OG of worldwide cannabis retailing.
In October 2018, BELTLINE Cannabis Calgary became the FIRST fully licensed, compliant LEGAL cannabis retailer in Calgary, AB Canada. Our team transformed a 1908 historic homestead into a unique, eclectic retail cannabis experience.
Our BUDTENDERS are skilled and educated in the cannabis field. As an employer, BELTLINE Cannabis offers our staff a “higher” education opportunity to pursue the passion of Cannabis.
Our logo and mural on the feature wall at BELTLINE celebrates a rich local history and highlights the notable Canadians that have lived in the neighbourhood including: Nellie McClung, Sir George Stanley and Sherwin Williams. Our shop is conveniently located in the heart of the hip Beltline neighborhood, Calgary’s most densely populated community.
